Here’s the honest truth: parents are beating us.

Not deliberately. But accidentally. Because when it comes to supporting new drivers, they’ve got the one thing we don’t – influence.

Learners will nod along with their instructor. But it’s Mum, Dad, or Uncle Dave who’ll reinforce (or wreck) what we’ve taught the second they’re back in the car.

The problem? Most supervising adults don’t know what they’re doing. They mean well, but they’re unknowingly untraining what we’re building. And we let it happen – because we’ve done nothing to change it.

It’s time for that to stop.

We need to stop treating parents like obstacles and start treating them like partners. Give them training. Involve them. Show them how powerful they are.

Because if we don’t? They’ll keep scoring goals while we’re stuck defending an open net.
